Scent your home with Sanctuary candles without burning a hole in your wallet

If you’ve been here a while, you’d know I’m really into scented candles. Like, REALLY into it. The last time I went to Australia, I returned with a suitcase full of candles and little else. They truly are my guilty pleasure.

But often, good quality soy candles that don’t smell horribly chemical, don’t come cheap. If you want something high quality, especially when it involves scent, it usually comes at a price.

Until now.

Ladies and gents, let me introduce you to Sanctuary, an affordable local brand of soy candles that burn beautifully, smell amazing and importantly, does not make you feel like you’re burning money! 😀

I love it when I find a local brand that lives up to my ideals. There aren’t many, but the few I’ve come across are gems.

What happens when you over-exfoliate your skin? How can you repair the damage?

I often come across cautionary warnings to not over-exfoliate the skin, especially when you use something like a facial wash cloth or flannel to help cleanse your skin, or an exfoliating toner. I too often spout such wisdom, but you know what? It’s hard to warn people about something that you’ve never experienced before. I mean, what happens if you over-exfoliate your skin? Why is it bad?

over exfoliation of skin and how to repair

Well, I didn’t go all out with the intention to find out, but I inadvertently experienced it, and I’m now in a position to tell you what happens when you over-exfoliate your skin and more importantly, how you can help repair the damage!

The cult favourite Clarins Beauty Flash Balm is not a flash in the pan, it’s an excellent makeup primer!

To everyone who asks for makeup primer recommendations, I always say “I’m sorry, I don’t use a primer” And then I realised quite recently while reorganizing my base drawers, that that’s not quite true.

I don’t use a primer… primer (you know, products called primers) but I do use other products that aren’t called primers, but also work as primers. Are we confused? Good.

clarins beauty flash balm

I currently have 2 that I have belatedly realised work well as primers for me, but I wanted to show you this Clarins Beauty Flash Balm because I realised that this has been something I’ve used over the past 8 years at least, without ever mentioning it! How remiss I have been 😀

First of all, the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm isn’t a makeup product. This is actually filed under their skincare range, as a pick-me-up product for the skin. The product is supposed to rejuvenate tired, stressed skin by eliminating skin fatigue in a flash (hence the name) and boosting skin radiance, while tightening the skin. While all that is great in a skincare product, the unintended side effect is that is makes a pretty impressive foundation primer!

Your Say: Do you keep lusting after and looking for new makeup?

I was browsing my feeds recently and came across this interesting post on Musings of a Muse. Basically, she asks if you keep looking for new makeup out there to play with, all the time? After all, we do enjoy makeup and wearing and playing with makeup. Brands keep releasing new stuff every now and again – although they now seem to come in fast, concentrated waves – and this fuels the addiction to newness.

new makeup - colourpop, sisley, clarins, bourjois, dior

I think social media has a lot to answer for as well, for it is through social media (Instagram, in particular) that pretty flatlays and makeup looks fuel the addiction so an “I want”quickly escalates to an “I need” by the time you shut your Instagram page.

Are you addicted this way? Do you crave newness in your makeup collection? Are you in a happy place with your makeup?

Get a Limited Edition Orgasm (blush) and supersize that flush you’ll get with NARS!

Some of you have seen this on Snapchat, but for those who haven’t, there’s a very funny story surrounding this NARS Limited Edition Orgasm blush that offers you supersized pleasure at a value price.

nars limited edition orgasm blush

I received a message one day that said “Hi, PB, I’d like to send you a limited edition orgasm.”

I paused for a moment as the message too paused. Now, that was a very generous offer, I might add. As a witty reader (@hasegawaayane) commented in my Instagram page, was a limited edition orgasm one that “cums once in a blue moon”? Or might it be one that was coming soon in an earth-shaking way?

Much to my relief (kinda), it was quickly followed up with “The Orgasm blush! Blush!” LOL! 😀 So, because this blush is one that used to send people into throes of ecstasy and make them giggle coyly at the mention of the name, I thought you’d like to know that now, for a limited time, you too can get a limited edition, supersized Orgasm…. blush 😉

Do you have naturally curly, wavy or tightly coiled hair that you only wear straight or straight and then styled curly with a curling iron or other manual curling method?

Are you tired of spending 1-3 hours or more blow drying and flat ironing your hair?

Are you looking for a PERMANENT CHEMICAL STRAIGHTENER that is similar in permanence to but an alternative to traditional damaging and drying Relaxers?

If yes, then Thermal Reconditioning A.K.A Japanese Hair Straightening may be for you!!

This is NOT a Keratin smoothing treatment so if you want to just tame frizz, make your hair shiny and/or you want your curls back in a month or two then this treatment is NOT for you!! (See my Pravana Perfection smoothout treatment video coming soon if that is more your style)

If you already have a Sodium Hydroxide relaxer (Lye) or Calcium Hydroxide relaxer (No Lye) this may NOT be for you! (But we may be able to transition you into this in the future!! :)

If you want silky, bone straight hair PERMANENTLY until your natural outgrowth comes in (4-6 months, then you would come in for a re-touch) without most of the "issues" of a traditional relaxer, then this may be for you! (When done by a professional knowledgeable in this process on healthy hair)

Please Note: This is a professional PERMANENT CHEMICAL STRAIGHTENING PROCESS using the base ingredient THIO and is intended for licensed cosmetologists who are familiar with working on multiple textures of hair as well as with chemicals that permanently alter the internal structure of hair! Please don"t try this at home and please seek the above when looking for a stylist to potentially do this for you! I truly honor and advocate natural hair but if you do decide to go permanent, in most cases, this is the way to go!! feel free to ask any questions you may have in the comments!! I will do my best to answer them all!
Over 15 years professional and licensed experience!

When your skin is showing its sensitive side, the Tatcha Indigo Soothing Triple Recovery Cream will calm it right down

Go here for full text and images: When your skin is showing its sensitive side, the Tatcha Indigo Soothing Triple Recovery Cream will calm it right down

When I first received the Tatcha Indigo Soothing Triple Recovery Cream, I was elated, and also a little apprehensive. I feel that way every time that I’m presented a product that’s meant to soothe irritated skin, or is touted as being made for sensitive skin. I used to pride myself on having skin like an elephant’s hide – tough, able to tolerate my most extreme ministrations. So, it makes it hard for me to evaluate if a product actually soothes the skin – I wouldn’t know!

One day, all that changed.

tatcha indigo soothing triple recovery cream

It’s been twice thus far, in the space of a few months, that I’ve found myself scratching my head, wondering where the heck I went wrong with my skincare routine. The first time, I figured out that it was a product that was causing my skin to go a little haywire, breaking out randomly, having widespread areas of rough patches. I stopped using the product, and worked on repairing and soothing my then, irritated skin.

That was when I broke out the Tatcha Indigo Soothing Triple Recovery Cream. I needed something that wouldn’t aggravate nor irritate my skin further, and I wanted to see how well (or not) this popular cream worked.

Tatcha is a brand with a very unique approach to skincare, and an interesting story behind it centering on the mystique surrounding Japanese beauty. It takes quite a lot for a brand-new brand to capture the imagination as well as Tatcha has. I think it’s to do with their beautiful aesthetic, interesting story, and for most, effective (albeit pricey) products. I told you about the cleansing oil before this (loved it and finished it, much to my consternation) but today, it’s this cream that so many people love.
